Remove the older font SimpErhu.ttf from your computer's font folder and install the new one from the newly downloaded zip or rar file. Install the new SimpErhu.dot file to replace the older one. If you have created a lot of Jianpu file with the version 4.0 already, you may find that some characters' positions had changed, such as the finger assignment and slur/ties. You can highlight the entire score and use Alt+F8 to bring up the macro list and double click the Upgrade_fix macro to fix the errors.
II. Where should I store the template file?
The SimpErhu.dot file should be installed to the same folder where Normal.dot (the Microsoft Word Global Template) is stored. This file's location varies from one pc to another depending on the configuration. So it is best to search for it and then install SimpErhu.dot file to the same folder.

1. What Is the System Requirement?
Windows NT or later and MS Word 97 or later.
2. Will it work in other applications?
Input should be done in MS Word. However as long as the font is installed, the Jianpu scores will display in any Windows compatible applications such as Powerpoint and Acrobat.
3. Will this font work in Operating Systems other than Microsoft Windows?
Don't know. Never tested in a Mac or Linux.
4. Can I use this font to paste SimpErhu Jianpu scores directly online in my blog or forum?
May be, if the site you are using supports unicode input and display. However your readers would not be able to read your scores unless the SimpErhu font is also installed on their computers.
5. Are there known "bugs"?
Known bugs had been fixed in Version 4.55. There is still minor ones in transposition codes. Will fix them later.
